getting ready to sign

 

you're going to love being in the SAMI fam! here are a few things you need to know before signing:

discuss your options with your agent



whether you toured online or in-person, talk with your agent to confirm location and rent pricing, as well as ask any questions you have.


choose what suits you best between an individual lease with sole responsibility or a joint lease with roommates.


a standard lease has a three semesters duration. shorter two-semester leases may be available at a slight premium.

here's what you'll need to sign:



identification
make sure you have your driver's license or state ID, as well as your student ID

non-refundable admin fee
if you're signing a lease for a one bed, you'll pay $295 or $390 if two people will be living there. for any other size unit, the fee is $295 per person.

financial aid considerations
if you plan to use financial aid, bring a copy of your award letter, and discuss your deferment options with your agent.

roommates

if you already have roommates lined up, bring them along to the lease signing!

if you don't have the roommates you need yet, don't worry! SAMI offers roommate matching services to help you find compatible housemates.

apartment extras

amenities: your agent should have walked you through any amenities your unit may have during your tour-- if you're unsure, just reach out!

furniture: all apartments are furnished with beds, dressers, couches, and kitchen tables.
(note: desks are not included, and tvs only at specific locations.)

utilities & other fees

internet and recycling: a standard $16/month fee applies for these services.

utilities: not included in the rent, and are paid directly through your tenant portal. You can find more information on our utilities process below.

renters insurance

protect yourself and your belongings by utilizing SAMI's renters insurance policy!

our leases now require all tenants to have an active insurance policy, and this will be automatically applied to your account for just $14/month.
