Subleasing Policies
If you are looking to sublease your apartment, please list your apartment below, and consider sharing to the Illinois State University Facebook Groups (avoid FB Marketplace and Craigslist).
If you are looking for an apartment to sublease, please review the below listings and reach out to the original tenant.
Policies:
- If looking at a 2, 3, or 4BR apartment, you must be a student and of the same gender as the original tenant
- If looking at a 1BR, you can be any gender, and/or a non-student. Non students will be charged a $95 application fee.
- Once you've spoken to the original tenant and discussed the agreement, a SAMI agent can send you the sublease application link.
- Once subleasee is approved, the agreement will be first sent to the original tenant to sign and pay the $300 sublease fee.
- Upon signing and payment, the agreement will then be sent to the subleasee to sign and pay their move in/admin fee ($295 for a 1BR apartment; $195 for a 2, 3, or 4BR apartment).
9 minutes from campus and 9 minutes from uptown, 3 other roommates, two girls and one guy so anyone is welcome.
It is an excellent place with a washer and dryer, high-speed internet, great roommates, and a 10-minute walk from campus.
This apartment is amazing! It is a two bedroom, one bathroom with a dishwasher as well as coin laundry in the building. This lease also comes with a parking spot per bedroom which is very convenient. My roommate will be living here during the 24-25 school year. She is a History Education major and has been the best roommate to live with! She is very kind and keeps the apartment tidy as well. The lease starts in July but move-in isn't until August. You stop paying rent in April and move-out is in May.
This sublease is for the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year.

Super quiet place, never have a problem with parking. Quick access everywhere u go with a car. 3-5 minutes to gas stations and grocery’s stores. 7-10 from ISU. Very spacious apartment whether you its one or two of you. Utility’s don’t add much more onto the cost!

I am a master in Robotics student at the university of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I will be in Normal for my 7-month co-op. I am looking to sublease someone LOFT from May 15 - Dec 15, 2024 at 1701-1729 Raab Rd - Lofts North End (1 Bedroom) for my work at Rivian. Potentially can be extended to the end of May 2025 but I currently don't know for sure with the extension option due to the company policy, so only May 15-Dec15 is for sure.

Starting winter break (2024) you can move in until the Summer of 2025. There is a pool, laundry room, Amazon hub, mailroom, and gym. There is a big grass area with a tent and grills. There are many parking spots and friendly neighbors.

Graduating in December of 2024 looking for someone to sublease for January 2025. This is a 1 bed room apartment at 305 East Vernon Ave. Biking to school takes 10-15 minutes walking takes 15-20 minutes. Text, call and email me if you are interested!
Vernon Stables is a lovely place to live. These buildings are peaceful and calm, but still on campus, near Constitution Trail.
The bedrooms are spacious, and each bedroom even includes a vanity with a sink and cupboards, providing each tenant a space to get ready without worrying about sharing the bathroom. The kitchen has a great amount of counter space and an island. The kitchen also includes a dishwasher and an in-unit washer and dryer. The complex's gym is attached to the mailroom, and the pool is great to enjoy on hot summer days!
The unit is pet-friendly, and my roommate has one cat, a small calico named Patches McGee. My roommate also already has a television and a wifi router in-unit. In addition to the vanity, each room also has a closet and a dresser. Carpet has some damage from cats scratching. Utilities are all separate.

This specific lease is perfect for a myriad of reasons. Not only is the location a 3-5 minute walk to campus, but there are plenty of restaurants and services that are in VERY CLOSE proximity.
Some of these include:

This is apartment #7 a very nice and modern place. Utilities not included are, water and gas. No pets allowed and looking for someone to lease during the school semester of '24-'25. My name is Mya Mangan and I'm looking for someone to take over my bedroom for the spring semester of 2025. I am planning to study abroad and need a female student to move in with my roommate. The apartment is about a 5-10 minute walk to campus, amazing location has two bedrooms and one bathroom, and was recently renovated so everything is updated. There is no in-unit washer or drier however there is free laundry in the building. Rent is $522 per month and includes internet/recycling as well as a parking spot, utilities are an additional payment of about $30 per month depending on the use. My brother and I are both looking for 2 subleasers for the 2024-2025 school year. We had signed a 10-month lease at 606 W. Hovey in a 2 bed/1 bath apartment and are no longer going to be living on campus next year. The price is $607/month plus utilities and payments would be made from 07/01/2024-04/01/2025. I am moving out for my time at ISU has come to an end. I leave behind a roommate named Nicholas Pierce. He is a very good guy, I lived with him for the past 6 years here at ISU starting as random roommates in the dorms. Easy to get along with and mostly keeps to himself. I also leave behind pots and pans and some string lights if you choose to decorate with them.
